"Founded by Melida Osorio as a home business in 2019, Melida's Velvet Boutique opened its doors to the public in 2024. We specialize in bridal and formalwear by appointment, offering expert alterations, custom repairs, and bespoke designs for quinceañeras, brides, bridesmaids, prom, and more. Our mission is to provide exceptional service, a curated selection, and genuine care for every client."

About Me


"I’m Melida Osorio, the founder of Melida’s Velvet Boutique. Born and raised in Honduras, I’ve been passionate about designing dresses for as long as I can remember. My journey began at 13 when I enrolled in an academy, where I studied for two years before pursuing formal education in design and fashion. During this time, I had the incredible opportunity to work with renowned Honduran designer Pablo Alarcón.

I carried this dream with me to the United States, where I continued to refine my craft, gaining experience at several boutiques across Long Island, NY. With over 40 years of experience, my faith in God has been my foundation, guiding me to create elegant, timeless designs that bring joy to every client."
